Elder law issues

Recorded on October 25, 2022

[1:27:12] This webinar looks at important issues that affect older clients. The first part of the session explains the law related to admission to long-term care, including rights under the Health Care Consent and Care Facility Admission Act, and options for advance planning decision making. The second part of the session works through scenarios of common challenges confronted by advocates helping seniors: how to best handle property tax debt; guidelines for cashing in RRSPs to pay for health care; and understanding situations in which clients lose benefits they previously qualified for.
