Duty Counsel and Advice Lawyer Forms

New Lawyer Vendor Number Application and Vendor Number Reapplication Forms

If you want to start taking legal aid cases, apply for a vendor number. See Form-A below.

If you have a vendor number deactivated by Legal Aid BC (LABC), apply to reactivate your number. See Form-B below.

Both PDF forms are fillable and saveable. After signing your completed form, please email it to lawyer.support@legalaid.bc.ca.

Applying for a lawyer vendor number (Form-A)

To apply for a vendor (billing) number so you can start taking legal aid cases, please complete this form:

You must be a current, practising member of the Law Society of BC or we cannot process your application.

Before submitting your application, you must read the LABC Tariffs, including the General Terms and Conditions.

Once we approve your application, we’ll send you an email notification with your vendor number and information on how to get started.

We’ll also arrange your one-on-one orientation session with a Lawyer Support Representative. LABC’s orientation program qualifies for two CPD credits.

Reactivating your vendor number (Form-B)

To apply to reactivate your vendor number or to have conditions on your eligibility to receive contracts removed or modified, please complete this form:

You must be a current, practising member of the Law Society of BC or we cannot process your application.

If LABC deactivated your vendor number or imposed conditions on your eligibility to receive contracts, you must demonstrate that you’ve addressed the reasons for deactivation or conditions. You may provide additional information to support your reactivation by attaching a letter and/or documents to your form.

Banking/Direct Deposit for EFT Payments (Form-C)

If you’ve changed your bank account or law firm, please complete the Lawyer Direct Deposit Form-C below and email it to lawyer.support@legalaid.bc.ca.

Lawyer Direct Deposit Form-C

It takes four business days for Legal Aid BC to process your banking information change request.

Please provide us with an email address so we can notify you when your payment is deposited. (This address can be different from the one on your Lawyer Vendor Application Form.) Once payment is deposited, you can access your payment reports in the Lawyer Portal.

It can take up to three business days after you receive your electronic funds transfer (EFT) email notification for your payment to be deposited.
