Impact of Race and Culture Assessments (IRCAs) are currently funded for racialized LABC clients who face a jail sentence of two years or more, or in the case of youth, face a custodial sentence. Recently, the jeopardy criterion has been relaxed and LABC can consider IRCAs for eligible clients facing lesser sentences. These IRCAs are funded on a discretionary case-by-case basis.
To request funding for a client, please complete an IRCA Initial Request Form — found under the Resources & News tab in the Lawyer Portal in the Forms section. Submit the form as an authorization request in the portal. We will assess your request and will notify you. If you have questions, please email us at IRCA.
