New criminal law resource

This year saw the return of the Criminal Law Bootcamp following a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference was jointly organized by LABC, the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society, the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers, the BC First Nations Justice Council, and the University of British Columbia’s Innocence Project at the Allard School of Law.

During this conference we held a session called Navigating Legal Aid, which was hosted by Talia Magder, Lisa Sturgess, and Andrew Nelson with guest appearances from Michael D. Smith and Rod Holloway, KC. This session provided criminal lawyers with valuable information on how to work with LABC.

We are pleased to let you know that this session was recorded and is now available in the Lawyer Portal for those who were unable to attend or would like a refresher. You can find the video under the Resources & News tab. Under Resources, click on Training, and scroll down to the Videos section. You can claim one CPD credit for watching the video.
