Complaints about eligibility

If you have a complaint about an individual’s legal aid eligibility, please see Complaints about clients.

If your legal aid application was refused and you’d like to make a complaint about your eligibility decision, you may request a review within 30 days from the date of refusal.

Your request must:

  • be in writing,
  • set out your reasons for disagreeing with the decision, and
  • include copies of supporting documentation.

The review decision may take up to three weeks. You’ll receive the decision by mail.

If it’s been more than 30 days since your application was refused, please visit your closest legal aid office or apply over the phone through the Legal Aid BC Call Centre.
