Apply for an Indigenous travel bursary

If you’re Indigenous and have legal aid clients, you can receive $500 per year for travel to an out-of-town conference or in-person course relevant to your legal aid practice. Out-of-town travel applies to travelling that exceeds 160 km (round trip).

When you apply for a bursary to attend a continuing legal education conference or course via our LABC Bursary program, you’ll also be able to request a travel bursary. We also consider travel bursary requests for training that does not appear on the bursary program web page.

This initiative is part of an agreement between the BC Government, the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers, and Legal Aid BC, and is a commitment to supporting the learning and development of Indigenous legal aid lawyers.
