Are you looking to share your knowledge with the next generation of lawyers?

Articling law student

Legal Aid BC is seeking lawyers, with a ten-year call or more, who are interested in mentoring newer LABC lawyers. We are in the process of developing an informal mentorship program similar to those offered by other organizations.

Mentors would work with their mentee to determine the scope of their assistance but should be prepared to advise on an area of law and challenges specific to legal aid work. This program would be on a volunteer basis however, counsel may use our existing mentorship program when dealing with specific LABC cases.

Those not familiar with our current program are encouraged to review it using the link above. The hours offered are specific to a LABC contract and prior authorization is required. The current program does not connect counsel to mentors.

Any interested potential mentors please contact denbigh.watertosh@legalaid.bc.ca

We will be updating our mentorship program as it develops. Keep an eye out for further updates.
