Legal Aid BC (LABC), along with the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society (CDAS), the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers (ALL), and the BC First Nations Justice Council (BCFNJC), successfully held their annual Criminal Law Bootcamp May 7 – 8 in Vancouver in person and online.
Close to 150 new lawyers and articling students attended the two-day conference, which consisted of 12 hours of professional education, including two hours of ethics and professionalism.
Thanks to generous support from the organizers, the conference was free for all attendees. Seven panels covered a wide array of topics that ranged from effective junior lawyering to a panel on managing expert witnesses. Thank you to our organizers and senior counsel who donated their time and knowledge to provide terrific content for our new lawyers and articling students.
