Bursary offer: Mediation training for family law

People talking at a desk

We’re pleased to offer bursaries to cover mediation training for family lawyers. If you take on legal aid family cases, you may qualify for LABC to pay for your courses to become a certified family law mediator.

Successful applicants will be required to accept a minimum of 20 mediations over a five-year period at the legal aid rate.

For more information on the courses covered and the selection criteria, please see this Mediation Training Grant outline (PDF)

To apply for a bursary, email lawyers.resources@legalaid.bc.ca with your vendor number, a description of how you meet the selection criteria, and an agreement to accept a minimum of 20 mediations over a five-year period at legal aid rates once qualified.

Selection of bursary recipients is at our discretion. A limited number of grants are available, and not all applicants may qualify. Applicants will be prioritized based on the selection criteria outlined in the outline document linked above.

Application deadline: April 1, 2026.
