October 27 is Duty Counsel Day, a time to recognize and celebrate the important work of Duty Counsel lawyers across Canada.
To mark the occasion, landmarks across the country will be illuminated in red to shine a light on the essential role duty counsel play in improving access to justice.
Here in BC, participating landmarks include the Parliament Buildings in Victoria, Vancouver City Hall, Burrard Street Bridge, BC Place, Science World, and the Convention Centre in Vancouver, and the Bastion in Nanaimo. Seeing these familiar landmarks lit in red is a great way to raise awareness of Duty Counsel Day and the vital services available to people navigating the legal system.
We look forward to seeing landmarks across BC shine red on October 27 as we celebrate the dedication and impact of duty counsel lawyers throughout the province.
