While LABC does not provide lawyers with MS Teams training for court appearances, you can find detailed information in the Provincial Court’s NP21 Guide to Remote Proceedings, available on the court’s Virtual conferences and hearings web page.
You can also check out Microsoft Teams help & learning page where you’ll find free training videos on how to use the various components of MS Teams. This will be your best resource for technical training.
As provided by the Court Services Branch, you’ll find a list of up-to-date MS Teams numbers for court locations and courtrooms for initial appearances in the Lawyer Portal under the Resources tab. Click on Resources for lawyers and scroll down to Area of Law: Criminal to find the list.
The Canadian Bar Association (CBA) also offers an online practice management resources hub where you can learn more about MS Teams, best practices for virtual hearings, work-from-home tips and more. CBA membership is not required to access these resources.
