Are you looking for an experienced mentor to support your legal aid work? Legal Aid BC (LABC) promotes mentoring within our lawyer roster.

We offer mentorship opportunities for lawyers actively taking LABC contracts with less than five years of call or who have been practising in the relevant area of law for less than five years.

The LABC Mentoring Program supports legal aid lawyers by providing access to experienced mentors who can offer practical guidance, share expertise, and help lawyers build confidence in their legal aid practice. The program helps ensure high-quality legal services for legal aid clients, promotes professional growth, and strengthens our legal aid roster.

Visit our mentoring opportunities at LABC webpage for a list of mentors who are available to support you on your criminal, family, or child protection legal aid cases. For more in-depth, case-specific support, you may also apply for mentoring assistance or apprentice counsel funding. For more information about these options, see Mentoring counsel (PDF).

If you have questions or would like to provide feedback about the mentoring program, please email us at mentoring@legalaid.bc.ca.
