Since the launch of the upgraded Lawyer Portal on June 27, Legal Aid BC has been supporting lawyers in the transition.
We are listening to your feedback and are working to make improvements to the Lawyer Portal. Based on the feedback received to date, Legal Aid BC is changing the following:
- Browser compatibility: For best performance, Legal Aid BC recommends using Chrome when using the Lawyer Portal. We will continue to work to ensure other browsers function better with the portal.
- Performance: Some performance delays are inevitable in the early days. We understand your concerns about speed and are working to improve the performance of the new system.
- Printing invoices: We are reformatting the printable invoice to ensure it condenses to a maximum of two pages, as it was in the previous portal. This update will be made in the system shortly.
As with any system change, there is a transition period as we learn to work with the new technology. We appreciate your patience during this time.
On a positive note, we also heard from lawyers that they like the new layout and the way contract information is displayed, including the ability to have closed client files in a separate folder. The search function is also improved.
