The Ministry of Children and Family Development advises that, as of September 13, 2024, Kitasoo Xai’xais Chief and Council have been added to the list of Indigenous Governing Bodies for the purpose of receiving notice of significant measures under section 12 of An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth, and families. Kitasoo Xai’xais Chief and Council must receive notice prior to taking any significant measure regarding a child or youth from their Nation.
