The Supreme Court of BC registry has implemented an option for defence counsel of record to receive certain reports in criminal proceedings by secure file transfer electronic mail, consistent with the one already established in the Provincial Court under CRIM15.
Instructions on how defence counsel of record may submit their written consent to receive reports electronically are set out in this notice (PDF). The notice is also posted on the court’s website under Criminal Practice Directions, below the heading Notices, Memoranda and Information Sheets. The prescribed form, Notice of electronic mail address and consent (ADM882), is available on the Criminal court forms web page.
