The Ministry of Children and Family Development advises that, effective September 12, 2025, Wei Wai Kum First Nation has been added to the list of Indigenous Governing Bodies for the purpose of receiving notice of significant measures under section 12 of An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families. Driftpile Cree Nation (DCN) will also be included in the list effective September 22, 2025.
Wei Wai Kum First Nation and DCN must receive notice prior to taking any significant measure regarding a child or youth from their nations as per the dates listed.
